About me

A little bit of everything you can do a little bit of

Ever since I was a kid I've been drawn to water, to the woods and to my bike. I like travelling close to home best: down back roads, sleeping under the open sky or in a hammock. I'm a lifelong photo-tourist, part one-man band, part gadget geek. Basically, a “little bit” of everything you can do a little bit of.

Photography has been with me since I was ten, when my dad gave me a silver Russian camera — a Zenit E. What interests me most is context: reportage, portraits that show more than just a face, and my own city. I walk around Poznań like a tourist, even though I've lived here for years. My photos have won a few awards, including at Wielkopolska Press Photo, Moja Wielkopolska and the “ILO” competition in Kutaisi, Georgia.

I also like talking about all this. My talk “Nie musisz podróżować” (You Don't Have to Travel) won the “Złoty Ślad” award at the Śladami Marzeń Travel Festival, and I've spoken on the TEDx stage too. Most often I talk about simplicity, improvisation and wonder at the ordinary. Because adventure is something you carry inside you.
